Privacy policy
Last updated 11 August 2026
GroupTrip stores only the information you and your invited travel companions intentionally add to a trip. We do not read your email, track your live location, import contacts or sell personal information.
Information we collect
When you create or join a trip, GroupTrip may store your display name, trip dates, departure city, budget, travel preferences, chat messages, suggestions and itinerary details such as flights, accommodation and activities. Please do not enter passport numbers, payment card details, health information or other sensitive information.
Why we use it
We use this information to create the shared trip, calculate group preferences, show a countdown, keep the crew conversation together and build the itinerary requested by the group. We may also use basic technical and usage information to keep GroupTrip secure and improve the service.
Who can see trip information
Anyone who receives a trip’s unique invitation link may be able to view and contribute to that trip. Treat the link like a group invitation and share it only with people you trust. GroupTrip is not currently designed for confidential or highly sensitive information.
Service providers and booking partners
GroupTrip is hosted using cloud infrastructure. When you follow a booking link, the relevant travel provider—including Expedia, Viator, Klook or another clearly named partner—handles the information you give them under its own privacy policy. GroupTrip does not receive your payment card details from those providers.
Storage, access and deletion
Trip information is stored so the group can return to it. To request access, correction or deletion, use the contact method published by GroupTrip. We may need the trip invitation link and enough information to confirm the request is legitimate.
Security and overseas processing
We use reasonable technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Cloud and travel service providers may process information outside Australia. Their locations and practices can change, so review a provider’s policy before sending information to it.
Changes and concerns
We may update this policy as GroupTrip develops. The date above shows the latest version. If you believe information has been mishandled, contact GroupTrip first so the concern can be investigated.
